Blueprint Description[]

Plastic push lights are designed to turn on and off with a direct touch. In this challenge, the contestant must launch beanbags in an attempt to turn all of the lights off, but they must be precise with their throws, as hitting a light a second time will turn it back on.

Game Description[]

Player must throw beanbags 1 at a time and underhanded to hit battery-operated push-lights hanging on a wall. Player will attempt to turn all the lights off.

History[]

Known in Australia as "Lights Out", this is a multi-level challenge, having been played at levels 5 and 8, whereas in level 8, the contestant is given three more lights to throw beanbags at and turn them off, attached in a Tic-Tac-Toe formation whereas in level 5, the contestant must only turn off six in a pyramid formation or tic-tac-toe formation with two rows.

  • Beanbags
  • 6 to 9 Push Lights
  • Foul line 10 feet from wall

Set Up:[]

  • Set up push-lights on the wall in a triangle pattern, with 1 light on top, 2 lights below it, and 3 lights below those. The game begins with all of the lights turned on, and the player standing behind a foul line 8' away.(Level 5)
  • Set up push-lights on the wall in a triangle pattern, with 3 lights on top, 3 lights below it, and 3 lights below those. The game begins with all of the lights turned on, and the player standing behind a foul line 10' away.(Level 8)
  • When the clock starts, player may throw 1 beanbag at a time at the push-lights, using an underhanded throw.

Rules:[]

1. Prior to game start, contestant must have hands at sides.

2. Once the game begins, contestant must throw bean bags from the same hand underhanded.

3. Contestant may only throw one bean bag at a time.

4. To complete the game, all lights on the board must be off concurrently within the 60- second time limit.

5. Any beanbag released within the 60-second time limit may count toward completion of game.
