Minute to Win It - Games - Extreme Nutstacker

Blueprint Description[]

The citizens of Pisa learned the danger of building a tower on unstable ground. In this challenge, the contestant must construct a miniature tower of nuts on a similarly unsteady foundation: a cutting board held on their hand. Sliding nuts of the chopstick, one at a time, they must build an unprecedented ten-story stack (to win a towering half-million dollars)*.

Tips & Tricks[]

  • Assess the placement of the nuts on the chopstick and plan a strategy for how to stack them on the cutting board.
  • Make sure to keep a steady hand and maintain a good grip on the cutting board. This will help to prevent the stack from falling over.
    • Use a firm grip: Make sure you have a firm grip on the cutting board with your hand, so that it doesn't slip or move around as you build the stack of nuts.
    • Keep your arm relaxed: Try to keep your arm relaxed as you build the stack, as tensing up may cause the cutting board to shake or move.
    • Place the nuts carefully: Take your time as you add each nut to the stack, and make sure to place them carefully and evenly on top of one another. This can help the stack stay stable and prevent it from falling over.
    • Use a chopping motion: As you add each nut to the stack, you can try using a chopping motion with the chopstick to add some stability to the stack. This can help the nuts stay in place as you build the tower.
      • This might involve using a combination of your fingertips and palm to hold the board securely, while keeping your wrist and arm relatively stationary to minimize any wobbling or shaking. It might also be helpful to position the board at a comfortable and natural angle for you, in order to reduce the risk of the stack falling over. Additionally, you could try to build the stack as evenly and symmetrically as possible, in order to help it stay balanced and stable.
    • Keep the cutting board level: Make sure to keep the cutting board level as you build the stack, so that the nuts don't start to lean or tip over. You can do this by keeping your arm level and straight as you build the stack.
      • Additionally, it might be helpful to focus on keeping your elbow and arm as close to your body as possible to help maintain stability.
  • Focus on building the stack slowly and carefully, rather than trying to rush through it. This will give you more control over the nuts and help to ensure that they are placed correctly.
  • Consider using a light touch when sliding the nuts off the chopstick. This will help to minimize the chances of knocking the stack over.
  • Keep an eye on the time and pace yourself accordingly. If you find that you are running out of time, you may need to increase your speed slightly in order to complete the stack before time runs out.
  • Practice the game beforehand to get a feel for the technique and to develop your own strategies for success.
