Minute to Win It - Games - Don't Blow the Joker

Blueprint Description[]

The cards in a standard playing deck can be shuffled, dealt, or made to look like a tiny tent. In this challenge, however, the contestant will attempt to blow almost all of them off the top of a bottle, leaving a single card, the Joker.

Game Description[]

Player must blow off 52 cards, leaving 1 on top of a glass bottle.

History[]

Known as "Don't Tip The Joker" in Australia, this was a multi-level challenge, having been played at levels 7 and 9. It debuted as a level 7 challenge, but changed to level 9. Australia surprisingly played this game at Level 5 with Grant Nelson finally to not tip or blow the joker.

Tips & Tricks[]

Try blowing the cards from different angles, such as from the corner, the long side, or the short side of the deck. To move along quickly, take off many cards at a time to start off. Once you get close to the bottom of the deck, slow down and remove one or two cards at a time.

  • Try to blow the cards in a way that causes them to fall off the bottle and away from it, rather than just falling straight down. This will help to create more space around the bottle and make it easier to keep the Joker card on top.
  • Practice good hand-eye coordination and aim for accuracy. The more accurately you can blow the cards off the stack, the better your chances of leaving the Joker card on top of the bottle.
  • Keep a steady rhythm and pace. Blowing the cards off too quickly or too slowly can make it more difficult to leave the Joker card on top of the bottle.
  • Pay attention to the direction and speed of the cards as you blow them off the stack, and anticipate where they are likely to go. This will help you have better control over the movement of the cards and make it easier to leave the Joker card on top of the bottle.
