Blueprint Description[]

In this challenge, the contestant starts with three empty soda cans in one hand, and three full cans in the other. In a test of balance and dexterity, the player must exchange the stack of cans in the left hand, with the stack in the right, and vice versa. This must be accomplished without using the body as leverage, or setting any cans down in the process.

Game Description:[]

Transfer stacks of 3 cans each from one hand to the other without setting them down.

History[]

Samantha Cantagious

Samantha Gomez tries her hand at Cantagious.

This is a level 7 challenge in the United States and a level 3 challenge in Australia.

Household Items:[]

  • 2 Podiums
  • 3 Full Soda Cans
  • 3 Empty Soda Cans(tabs removed optional)
  • Wristbands(optional, these are used to identify which cans are in each hand)

Set Up:[]

Stack the 3 empty cans right side up on a table next to the 3 full cans stacked right side up on a table. When the clock starts, the player lifts the empty cans with 1 hand, the full cans with the other.

Rules:[]

1. Prior to game start, contestant must have hands at sides with color-coded wristbands on wrists.

2. Once game begins, contestant lifts the empty cans with one hand and the full cans with the other and begins transferring the stacks between the hands.

3. During transfer only the hands may touch the cans.

EX: Player may not use the podiums as leverage to keep the stack stabilized during the transfer.

4. Once a contestant lifts a stack off a podium, it may not be placed back on a podium until the correct color-coded stacks are in the correct color-coded hands (i.e. empty cans in opposite hand and full cans in opposite hand).

5. If a can falls off a stack or touches a body part other than the hands during transfer the game is over.

6. To complete the game, contestant, using only their hands, must transfer all three full cans and all three empty cans as described above to the opposing podiums within the 60- second time limit.

7. The can stacks must remain concurrently freestanding for three consecutive seconds.

Tips & Tricks[]

Don't grip the cans too tightly. A loose grip can cause the cans to slip, while a tight grip can lead to fatigue and difficulty transferring the cans. Keep movements steady and fluid. When transferring the cans between your hands, try to do so smoothly and without any sudden movements. This will help to prevent the cans from falling off the stacks. If you're shaky, you'll move the liquid around in the full cans which will affect your balance.

Practice your balance: Being able to hold and transfer the cans without dropping them will be key to success in this game.
